Aftercare

For your convenience,

we carry H2Ocean & saniderm aftercare products.

Stay out of all public waters for the next two weeks (hot tubs, pools, lakes, rivers,

etc.), as there may be bacteria you don’t want in your tattoo. Don’t soak in the

bathtub during this time. If you do, make sure to keep your tattoo out of the water.

You are fine to shower, but do not let the water hit your tattoo directly.

Begin using a fragrance-free lotion in very thin layers until your tattoo is completely healed.

We recommend H2Ocean Aquatat, Jergens Intensive Repair, Curel,

Lubriderm, Eucerin or Aveeno.

If your tattoo was wrapped,

leave the bandage on for at least 8-12 hours

(for Saniderm, follow instructions below).

When you remove the bandage, wash your tattoo.

Your tattoo will heal much like a sunburn does. That’s normal. Line work and

shaded tattoos may peel after 4-7 days; solid color may take 10-14 days to peel.

Keep your tattoo out of the sun for at least 2 weeks, and then use a heavy-duty

sunscreen to retain longevity of colors and details.

Do not pick or peel the flaking skin off, as this will pull out the ink. Let it come off when it’s ready.

Do not use Vaseline, Neosporin or Bag Balm on your tattoo.

Do not re-cover your tattoo with a bandage since the tattoo needs air in order to heal properly.

Do not remove your Saniderm before the instructed time.

If you are concerned for any reason, please contact the studio.

Washing Instructions:

Wash your tattoo by hand with lukewarm water and antibacterial soap. Please WASH your tattoo.

Don’t baby it, as this will not ensure that it is properly cleaned.

Pat your skin dry with a clean paper towel, do not rub it. Let it air dry for at least 30 minutes,

and then apply a thin layer of moisturizer or lotion.

*** Repeat this process 2 – 3 times daily until it is completely healed. ***

Saniderm Aftercare:

Leave the Saniderm on for 4 – 5 days, then remove it and wash it well (see above).

Within the first 24 hours,

you may notice liquid forming under the Saniderm. It will look gross, but don’t panic. This is completely normal.

If the fluid gets too much to handle, make a small puncture in the Saniderm

(preferably on the side or top) and drain any excess fluid onto a paper towel. If the

edges begin to peel, carefully cut them off or secure them with medical tape so it doesn’t keep peeling.

To apply Saniderm:

Wash your tattoo (see above) and make sure to let it air dry for at least 30 minutes.

This is very important when applying Saniderm. When your skin is completely dry,

remove the white protective backing and lay it flat over the entire tattoo. Try to

avoid air bubbles if possible. Make sure to press down firmly, and then remove the top clear layer.
